A HUGE thank you to all of the parent volunteers that helped us out at the zoo. You are all amazing, thank you for making the field trip a success for our students.

What an amazing fieldtrip. We participated in the Gossamer Wings program and learned so much about moths and butterflies! Ask me to tell you a few things I learned today.

Dear Mom and Dad of AM kindergarten:

I brought a special gift home today that I made for mom. Please remind me to give it to you on Sunday for Mother’s Day!

Today we talked about our senses and how they help us survive. Ask me to tell you what the 5 senses are. We talked about each one and though about how we would use our senses on Monday for our fieldtrip.

We are going to the zoo on Monday ALL DAY. Please check the weather forecast on Sunday evening and dress your child appropriately.Layers are most appropriate as we will be at the zoo all day and it may get warmer in the afternoon. Please pack your child: bottled water,  a couple of snacks and a lunch.

Pick up time at school is around 2:45pm at the kindergarten doors.

Ladybug math

Dear Mom and Dad:

Today we did a math activity using our ladybugs that we made. I had to count the dots on each ladybug and add them together. During this activity, my teachers were assessing if I can follow multi-step directions, if I am able to correctly count the number of dots and how I form my numbers. My teachers were very proud of me!

PM class: I brought home a special gift today that I made. Please remind me to give it to mom on Sunday for Mother's Day!

AM attends tomorrow. (All AM field trip forms must be returned tomorrow).

Today we talked about even and odd numbers. We also talked about a big math word....symmetry! Ask me to tell you what symmetry means. Today I drew dots on a lady bug I created yesterday and the dots had to be symmetrical.

All about ladybugs

Dear Mom and Dad:

We have been learning a lot about ladybugs. Ask me to tell  you 3 things I know about ladybugs. 

Thank you to all of the students who brought in rocks! We still need lots more. If you have not brought in rocks yet please send one or more with your child for tomorrow. We are doing a special art activity but shhhhh it’s a surprise.

We are going on a field trip to the zoo! AM field trip forms have already been sent home. PM forms will be sent home sometime this week.

The AM class celebrated music Monday this morning by singing our peace songs outside on the compound. Today at 11am, children from all around Canada gathered together to celebrate music!
