W and Y

**We will be part of the soccer program this week outside.
PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILDREN IN RUNNERS AS THEIR OUTDOOR SHOES. No flip flops, crocs, dress shoes.

Since our gym time is at the end of the day, we will be dismissing at the soccer field all week. Please meet your child at the field.

Dear Mom and Dad:

Please ask me these questions:

What does the Y say?

What does the W say?

We drew a picture of a Yak and then the AM drew a Walrus and the PM drew a Whale.

The PM class had dance today with Mrs. Jangle instead of soccer because it started to rain during our soccer time.

Question of the day: post on the blog 3 words that start with the letter Y and 3 words that start with the letter W.

Barbra Reid

Dear Mom and Dad of PM kindergarten:

Ask me to tell you who Barbra Reid is! We read her story “Picture a Tree” and noticed her amazing art work. We learned that she uses something called plasticine to create her art.

Today we explored this material with many different tools. Ask me to tell you all the different things I tried to make! This will help us when we do our art project next week.

We will be e-mailing Barbra Reid throughout our inquiry of her books, please post on the blog.

Question of the day: What wonders do you have for Barbra Reid?

Have a great weekend!

Kindergarten

Butterflies and Andy Warhol

Dear Mom and Dad:

Ask me to tell you what is happening with Herman. We are patiently waiting and he is patiently waiting to become a beautiful butterfly.

AM class: We worked with our guest teachers today and drew and labeled a butterfly. Ask me to tell you all the parts I know of a butterfly.  Ask me to tell you about a funny book Mrs. Dei Cont read to us this morning. It was called “The Book with No Pictures”

PM class: Ask me who Andy Warhol is and what his art looks like? I am working on an art project using his technique.
Ask me to find numbers 6,7,8,9,10 around the house. I should know what these numbers look like. Today I did a math assessment that demonstrated my learning of numbers 6-10. I used stickers and drew pictures to represent these numbers.

Question of the day: What was your favorite part of the day today and why? (don’t forget to use the word because (Mrs,. Ly’s favorite word))
