My First Full Dose of Kindergarten

Dear Mom and Dad:

Hooray! I completed my very first full morning or full afternoon of kindergarten. I will soon get used to our daily routines and I will be able to do it my sleep!

We read a book called “The crayon box that talked”. Ask me to tell you what the problem was in the story. We learned that in kindergarten “we are like a box of crayons, each one of us unique, but when we get together, the picture is complete.”

We did an activity together where I had to follow some step-by-step directions. First I had to write my name on the back of a blank crayon that was on a piece of paper, then I had to find the word that matched the color to write down what my favorite color was. Then I colored my crayon with my favorite color.

We then had snack and centers. Thank you to parent council for some delicious treats today!

I have some mail for you. I have brought home an entertainment book. This is part of our fundraising for the school. If you do not want to purchase the book, please return the book or return payment. Thank you very much.

AM kindergarten will get their package tomorrow.

Question of the day (please click on comment and answer the question): What is my favorite color?

Love,
Kindergarten

Housekeeping:

There is no school on Monday September 7.

Parents, if we could have your child line up outside before the kindergarten entry, that would be very helpful. There are now signs on the doors. This will allow us to bring the students in right away. Thank you for your help.

FRIDAY
8:17am – 11:57am

**Please note that kindergarten AM and PM alternate on Fridays. This Friday September 4, AM will attend only.

8:17am – 11:57am

Being independent is a huge skill children learn in kindergarten. Please encourage your child to Independently put on and take off their shoes, zip and unzip their jackets and backpacks etc.

Parents please make sure ALL of your child's belonging are labeled with first name and last name initial. We have several duplicate backpacks and shoes and this will be very helpful and prevent any anxiety when your child is looking for their belongings.

All children should have a pair of indoor shoes that are to be left in the classroom.
