What is a line?

NEW: **there is NO SCHOOL on Friday June 24 for BOTH classes. Please disregard the calendar that says PM will attend.

Dear Mom and Dad:

A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers today who came in and helped us with our stepping stones! I can’t wait to show you these at our Celebration of Learning.

What is a line? Today we explored this concept. Many of us thought that a line is only a straight line. After some discussion and exploration, we discovered that a line can also be curvy, swirly, short, long, fast, quiet etc. Ask me to draw you some lines in the air and make some sounds to go with it. We learned that a line has two open ends but when a line connects with another line, it makes a shape! We explored how sounds can correspond with lines. We also had some quiet art time to draw and color lines. We listened to calming music for about 15 minutes and did art. It was very relaxing!

I have a very special present that I brought home today for Father’s Day. Please remind me to give it to you on Sunday.

Question of the day: The best thing about my dad is _______ because_______.

Celebration of learning – Thursday June 23 – 6-7pm. This will be in our classroom where you could come with your child and they will share their art in the classroom. You will then take all 3 items of art with you home.

On Monday June 27 is our last day of kindergarten. Entrance and Dismissal times are the same as a regular Monday. Both classes will get sports day!

The last day for home reading book exchange will be on Monday June 20. Any books we receive back on Tuesday and on will be left at the school and your child will not bring a new book home. We appreciate your support at home with this program :)
