Dear Mom and Dad of AM kindergarten:
I completed my very first full Friday of kindergarten.
Ask me to tell you about the books I read today. We read a
book called “Don’t let the Pigeon drive the bus” and “The Pigeon Needs a Bath”.
I practiced drawing a guided drawing of the pigeon. Ask me to tell you what
shapes I found on the pigeon. My teachers were really impressed with how I
followed directions.
We learned a new song about “a circle”. I will soon be able
to sing it to you. We also had a dance party! (See photo) ask me to tell you what song we danced to.
We had gym today in the big gymnasium! Ask me to SHOW you
what it means when my teacher says “freeze” or “stop”.
Question of the day: Can you find things that are in the
shape of a circle? Post what you find on the blog!
Love,
Kindergarten
Housekeeping:
There is no school on
Monday See everyone on Tuesday!
Parents,
if we could have your child line up outside before the kindergarten entry, that
would be very helpful. There are now signs on the doors. This will allow us to
bring the students in right away. Thank you for your help.
Being independent is a huge skill
children learn in kindergarten. Please encourage your child to Independently
put on and take off their shoes, zip and unzip their jackets and backpacks etc.
Parents please make sure ALL of
your child's belonging are labeled with first name and last name initial. We
have several duplicate backpacks and shoes and this will be very helpful and
prevent any anxiety when your child is looking for their belongings.
All children should have a pair of
indoor shoes that are to be left in the classroom.
Please make sure to sign the
kindergarten forms and return it to the school. If you did not receive forms or
misplaced them please e-mail your child’s teacher.
