Dear Mom and Dad:
I had spring photos done today!
We looked closely at the letter Zz. Ask me to tell you what
sound Z makes and to draw it in the air for you. Ask me to tell you what animal
we drew today in our visual journals.
I have a home reading package in my backpack! Please review
the letter and read the book with me. I
have a tracking sheet that I need to fill out as well. I need to read my book at least 4 times. Once
I get to four times, ask me to read the sentences backwards to show that I know
the words and not just memorizing the book.
When I have read my book at least 4 times within 3-4 days, I
can return the zip lock with my book and tracking sheet and then I will get a
new book to read. There really is no set date to exchange the books, when you
are finished. I learned a new reading strategy today that we call “peaking
poodle”.
Question of the day: What does the reading strategy “Peaking
Poodle” mean?
