Dear Mom and Dad:
Today is Thursday! We have learned that "th" is the "rude sound". Tell me to show you how to say this sound (hint: this is the only time you can stick out your tongue at your teacher :))
AM class: We worked on our writing
skills today! Today I copied a sentence starter and tried to finish the
sentence. I wrote “ I like ______”. I learned about what a “finger space” is.
Ask me to tell you. During writing I need to have a finger space between each
word. At this stage in kindergarten, some of us are working on telling a story
through our pictures, copying words, tracing letters, sounding out words to
write or labeling. We have been working hard on adding detail to our pictures.
We learned quickly that the words “I’m done” don’t exist in kindergarten! When
the classroom timer is set, I need to work the entire time. If I think that I
am done, I could go back and add more detail, color and or work on adding more
detail to my writing.
PM class: We had a safety assembly today and we had our very first
practice lockdown today! We did amazing. Constable Mattice was at our school
today and she was very impressed. We had to be completely silent for about 10
minutes. My teachers are very impressed with me.
We were introduced to a social game
called “WHAT CAN YOU DO?” We are all contestants on this game show! Ask me to
tell you how the game works. We won an imaginary car and 1000000 points ;)
In order to get points, we need to
answer a social question about “WHAT CAN YOU DO?”
Question of the day: You feel
squished in line, WHAT CAN YOU DO? Discuss with your family members and post on
the blog.
Love,
Kindergarten
