Dear Mom and Dad:
We have been learning a lot about ladybugs. Ask me to tell you 3 things I know about ladybugs.
Thank you to all of the students who brought in
rocks! We still need lots more. If you have not brought in rocks yet please
send one or more with your child for tomorrow. We are doing a special art
activity but shhhhh it’s a surprise.
We are going on a field trip to the zoo! AM field trip forms have already been sent home. PM forms will be sent home sometime this
week.
The AM class celebrated music Monday this morning by singing our peace songs outside on the compound. Today at 11am, children from all around Canada gathered together to celebrate music!

Something new that I learned today about ladybugs is that the yellow 'stuff' is actually their blood to scare predators away. Also, ladybugs eat aphids!
ReplyDeleteOne think Makayla learned today was that Ladybugs can produce some yellow juice that is blood that tastes gross so they don't get eaten.
ReplyDeleteThere is different colours of no spot ladybugs.

ReplyDeleteCaroline learned that ladybugs can have 2 spots.
ReplyDeleteZachary said that the ladybug's wings are under the red part that we can see.
ReplyDeleteJackson said that the red part is a shell to protect its wings, and he also said that a ladybug in Calgary could fly all the way to Banff.
