Fabulous Monday

Dear Mom and Dad:

Ms. Cvach and Mrs. Dei Cont’s class had drumming today. Please read the housekeeping for details about our performance this Friday.

AM students did the Terry Fox Run today! Ask me to tell you one thing that I know about Terry Fox. Ask me to tell you about our new nature centers.

The PM students wrote in their journals. I am beginning to write down the sounds I hear and use kid writing. I am also getting really good at adding details to my pictures.

Question of the day: What was your favorite part about today?

"It's all good" Wednesday

Dear Mom and Dad:

Mrs. Ly and the other half of Mrs. Dei Cont’s class had drumming today.

We looked at a book that had a lot of information about fall. I learned some things about what animals do, what happens to the weather, what happens to the leaves etc.

Today I drew a picture in my journal of what I think I might see tomorrow on our fall walk (Please make sure I am dressed appropriately tomorrow. Layers are always best). Ask me to tell you what colors I used most to represent my fall picture. I then practiced writing the word “fall” on the line in my journal.

We have been reading Pete the Cat books. My teacher says that we should all try to be like Pete the Cat. Ask me to tell you why? We have been talking about what a little problem versus a big problem is. Most little problems I can solve on my own by making good choices. Please read this story with me. Here is a video of the author Eric Litwin reading the book!

Question of the day: What lesson did we learn from Pete the Cat?

Fall is in the air!

"This is a Mosasaurs. They eat meat and they are sea creatures and they are the biggest dinosaurs in Jurassic world!" Baron and Evan building at centre time

Dear Mom and Dad:

Ms. Cvach was away today so we had a guest teacher.

I worked with Mrs. Southworth, Mrs. Tuli and Mrs. Jones today. We are working on learning about each other and making new friends. Ask me to tell you of some of the friends’ names that I learned today.

I am getting really good at learning my routines in kindergarten. We continue to work on quickly lining up after we are playing on the playground outside for gym. Please have a conversation with me about why it is important to line up right away.

Thank you for helping me post all of my comments about what signs of fall I notice!

Question of the day: if I know the word fall then I can read and write other words! Can you think of words that rhyme with fall? We learned that if you take the first letter away from fall and add another letter, we can make a new word. Please help me think of words that have ____all in it and post it on the blog!
