Dear Mom and Dad:
We have 3 new student teachers from Mount Royal University in AM kindergarten! They will be here until the end of December every Wednesday morning.
We read a story called
“Chrysanthemum” by Kevin Henkes. This was a story about a little girl with a
very unique name. Today I practiced writing my name for a self portrait art
project. I can practice writing my name at home. If I cannot write my name yet
I can practice by tracing my name or copying my name. Please help me with this
at home.
I had dance today with Ms. Janelle.
We are practicing moving to the rhythm of music while working on our gross
motor skills.
I have mail for you today! I have a
special colored folder where my mail will go back and forth to school. Please
send this folder with me every day even if I don’t have anything in it. It will
go home everyday as well. You can teach me to be independent by giving me a job
to do when I get home. I can take out my folder and put it in the same spot for
you each day. At school I am expected to do the same, take out my folder at the
beginning of each day and put it in a special spot at school.
**There is a form coming home today and parents
must verify the information and only if we need to make
corrections do you need to return it to the school.
AM parents: next Friday October 2 is the Terry Fox run but there is no school for AM kindergarten. There is a pink form that came home today for the Terry Fox snack. AM kindergarten are welcome to come next Friday FOR THE RUN only if they come with a supervisor or guardian. Please only order the snack if you plan on coming next Friday. Otherwise you may discard the pink form. Thank you
Question of the day: Ask your parents how you got your name and post it on the blog!
Love,
Kindergarten

“Meet the Teacher” night is
this Thursday evening. If you have not signed up for a time, please click HERE https://webapps.cbe.ab.ca/MyAccount/Account/LogOn to sign up.
We will meet IN THE GYM at your start time and then head to the classroom after.
Please note that there could
be about 20 families in the room at any given time. This evening is set up in a
way for your child to show you some of their work that they have been working
on and for you to see the classroom. This is also a great opportunity for you
to meet your child’s teacher and to share anything you would like about your
child to their teacher.
There is no school this
Friday because of PD day.
We are planning to go on a
COMMUNITY WALK on Thursday October 1.
The AM class will go from
9:00am-10:00am
The PM class will go from
1:00pm-2:00pm
We will need at least 9
volunteers in the AM and 8 volunteers in the PM.
If you are able to join us
please e-mail your child’s teacher and we will coordinate.
