Welcome back!

Dear Mom and Dad:

Welcome back after a 5 daylong weekend!

AM: We wrote in our journals today about our long weekend. My teachers are pleased with how we are progressing with our writing skills. We revisited what we learned about self-assessment. We looked at 3 stages. I’m stuck (sad face), Almost (neutral face), I got it! (happy face). We talked about what the expectations are in Kindergarten so I know for sure when I am actually finished my work to the best of my ability! Ask me to tell you what I wrote about.

PM: Mrs. Quilley and Mrs. Southworth worked with us on robotics! Ask me to tell you about this. We are so excited to learn about dot and dash in kindergarten. In gym, we learned some basketball skills. Ask me to tell you what kind of passes there are in basketball.

Question of the day: How many ways can you make 10?

Love,
Kindergarten

Housekeeping:

We will be celebrating our 100th day of kindergarten on Thursday February 18!! To celebrate this special day we would like to ask:

1)   Please bring one small zip lock bag of 100 things. The items should all be able to fit in one small size zip lock bag. For example, 100 smarties, 100 small pebbles, 100 beans, 100 goldfish, 100 stickers, 100 paperclips etc. Please note that the items may not be returned. We will be doing some math with the items.

2)   On Thursday, we are inviting students to dress up as if they were 100 years old! Please do not go out and buy anything. There are lots of ideas on the Internet. Here are some ideas:
